Fit-Design combines process optimisation (Lean Six Sigma) with AI implementation for SMEs. The core belief: automating chaos only amplifies the chaos. First understand what’s broken, then bring in technology.
Challenge
SMEs often want to improve how they work and explore AI, but don’t know where to start. This project connects both, so companies can see where they lose time and where AI can help. They struggle with two questions at once: where are our biggest inefficiencies, and are we ready for AI? These questions are typically addressed separately, but the answers are deeply connected — process waste often signals where AI can have the most impact, and AI-readiness depends on how well processes are structured.
Your challenge: design a single integrated assessment that maps both Lean waste and AI maturity in one survey, giving an SME immediate insight into both process bottlenecks and AI opportunities.
Core question & where you will work on
• How do you bring Lean waste categories (waiting time, rework, unclear roles, overprocessing) and AI maturity dimensions (tool adoption, literacy, opportunity areas) together in one assessment?
• You will work with established frameworks (the seven wastes of Lean, AI maturity models) and translate them into concrete, understandable questions for SME employees — both operational staff and management.
Activities & expected output
• Research existing Lean assessments and AI maturity models, and identify overlaps and synergies
• Design a questionnaire with two versions: one for operational staff, one for management
• Build a scoring model that automatically plots results
• Deliver a working prototype (Excel, Google Forms, or web application) with documentation
